R407C is a blended HFC refrigerant widely used in residential and light commercial air conditioning, heat pump, and some chiller systems. It was developed as a non-ozone-depleting alternative to R22 and is used both in certain new equipment and as a service refrigerant for compatible existing HCFC-22 systems. Known for performance comparable to R22 in many comfort-cooling applications, it remains important in the service, repair, and ongoing maintenance of approved air-conditioning equipment.
