R448A is a reduced-GWP, nonflammable HFO blend used in low- and medium-temperature commercial refrigeration. It is commonly applied in supermarket systems, display cases, vending equipment, cold rooms, and other commercial refrigeration setups, both in new systems and in approved retrofits replacing R404A. With its lower GWP profile and established use in refrigeration upgrades, R448A continues to be important in modern commercial refrigeration service and replacement projects.
